About Dr. Ben Deheshi

Dr. Deheshi has joined Dr. Sharif at Sharif Surgical Oncology to form a Multidisciplinary Surgical Oncology team. Dr. Ben Deheshi has been practicing as an independent consultant in Orthopedic Surgery for over 11 years. His sub-specialties include Orthopedic Oncology and Adult Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. He has a special interest in the surgical management of patients with bone and soft tissue Sarcomas, benign bone and soft tissue lesions, bone metastases, hip and knee replacements (primary and revisions), and general orthopedic conditions. He is skilled in complex cases such as reconstruction of major bone and pelvic defects due to bone metastases, pelvic or extremity complex sarcoma resections and limb sparing surgery, and major revision hip and knee arthroplasty including endoprosthesis reconstruction. He also has experience with innovative approaches such as computer navigation and personalized custom 3D bone tumor resections. Dr. Deheshi is trained in Robotic Surgery for partial and total knee replacement, with the Stryker Mako Robotic-Arm.
Dr. Ben Deheshi obtained his Doctorate in Medicine with Distinction at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada in year 2000. Subsequently, he completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Ottawa in 2005 as Chief Resident, followed by a clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Oncology at Mount Sinai Hospital, at the University of Toronto Department of Surgery in Toronto, Canada. In 2010, Dr. Deheshi joined Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster University, in Hamilton, Canada as an Orthopedic Oncology and Arthroplasty Surgeon, concurrent with a local sabbatical in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Surgery. In July 2016, Dr. Deheshi was promoted to Associate Professor at McMaster University on the merit on his clinical, education and research accomplishments.
Dr. Deheshi’s primary Focus is the health and well-being of his patients. Dr. Deheshi uses his surgical experience and expertise to tackle the most difficult challenges in General Orthopedics and Oncology in order to surgically eradicate primary bone and soft tissue tumors when indicated, and return his patients to the highest level of pain-free function and quality of life.

” For management of patients with general orthopedic conditions, benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors such as Sarcomas, bone metastases, primary and revision hip and knee replacement, please feel free to contact me at  817-332-0786 or fax a referral to 817-332-0787 to setup an appointment.”
